Q5 Blood Direct – Extraction-free PCR

With Q5 Blood Direct, you can run PCR directly on blood without DNA extraction.

The master mix is compatible with samples containing up to 30% whole blood/EDTA blood. It can also be used on dried blood spots (DBS) on filter paper from Whatman^® 903, FTA Elute or FTA Classic and does not require pre-treatment to remove inhibitors. The mix uses Q5 polymerase, one of our best-selling polymerases, and is well suited for DNA sequences up to 7.5 kb. The mix can also be used on GC rich sequences with between 23 - 77% GC.
